Major League Baseball Teams to watch in the second half?

Always been a Yankee fan but how could you not be interested in what is going on in the National League Central, especially if you're from the East Coast.

Anxiously awaiting how Pittsburgh comes out of the box after a stellar first half. The consensus is that they have overplayed after a dismal 57-105 showing in 2010, doing so with one of the lowest payrolls in the league. We have four teams vying for first place (Red, Cardinals, Brewers, and Bucs).

Do St. Louis and Milwaukee turn it up? Can Pittsburgh continue to have an epic year?

gotta root for the Pirates to somehow finish the year over .500.. and lets see if the Rockies do their usual 2nd half tear..

I am rooting for the Pirates to have at least a .500 second half showing. I think K-Rod will prove to be a wise acquisition.

The Rangers are a very good home team. They have alot of good young pitchers that are getting used to pitching against good hitters and you already know the bats are there for the Rangers.

Definitely...Rangers are a solid team. Although anecdotal, I haven't done too well wager-wise with them in the first half

Wish the As traded their pitching and actually got some bats.. It would be fun to watch them lose in a different way instead

    Even being a Yankee fan:

Red Sox: They will make a push for 1 or 2 Starting Pitchers and make a run

Pirates: They will be buying not selling by trade deadline

Reds had a terrible 1st half and are right there. Watch out for them in the 2nd half.

White Sox have very strong pitching throughout

but even if they start hitting, they are the most "baseball stupid" of any team in the league....they ain't going anywhere

    Watch out for Minny

Also, I'll bet against Milwaukee and Cinci till the day I day. Two more baseball stupid teams.

I believe the thread starter was asking about teams still with viable shots at the post season.

    Also

I get your Cubs/White Sox thing. You might want to turn off the allegiances when it comes to gambling.

The White Sox are currently taking offers for Quentin, Floyd, and Jackson. Good chance they'll all be gone.

you said white sox are the most baseball stupid of any team in the league, I'm just correcting you, cubs are way more stupid defensively

and don't worry, i very rarely bet on cubs or white sox games

you say this and it is funny but last year they were terrible until the break then had a very good second half. i doubt they duplicate it but also doubt they play as poorly as they have been.

possible, they need some things to happen tho.

1st dusty needs to realize his lefties hit lefty pitching very well so there no point in breaking them up in the order.

2nd dusty kills pens and this season is no different so you would think they really need some help back there.

3rd their starting pitching has to really improve to what they were supposed to be.

4th that a lot of things, did i mention Dusty yet?
