This thread is not about blacks, its about whether a person can make a living off welfare. Is being born American a "free meal ticket" if you will, sure blacks are legendary in their abuse of welfare but many whites, hispanics etc are also on welfare

The thread was started bc I began to think why would anyone in this country work at a minimum wage job if the govt is basically offering you around that much in welfare and if working at that job would make you ineligible for welfare. My opinion is that those working minimum wage jobs who have kids are ALSO on welfare and the job provides them extra income which begs the question could they get by literally on the government tit alone or is a job necessary to supplement welfare

I think I spend more time than you analyzing cultural differences, you see everyone as the same and that the only thing that makes them different is the color of their skin, I know this is not the case. The fact is a person is shaped by their environment, if you grow up in an environment that has everyone abusing welfare and having kids with numerous women who all get on welfare then you will adapt to that environment and fall right in line with it.

Conversely if you grow up in a environment where that behavior is shocking and outrageous and you would be considered a scumbag pos and looked down on by everyone in your environment you will probably refrain from that behavior.

Well this is not really accurate, first off if you have no kids your welfare is going to be next to nothing as it is so you couldnt support yourself off of it if you wanted to (someone suggested benefits equal to around 300/month and when you consider McDs worker will get an EIC credit if they work for probably 1200 = 100/month welfare anyway they would basically only receive 200/month difference in welfare to support themselves on which is of course pretty tough to do), secondly if you have kids your welfare is probably not going to be affected one way or the other by your minimal pay from part time work at McDs, in fact the EIC credit you receive if you have kids is huge if you do any work at all so if you have 3 kids for example and you work 25 hours a week at McDs and make around 10k a year youll receive over 3k in EIC welfare at the end of the year which is an extra 300/month welfare on top of the free food, WIC, free sec 8 rent in a nice house etc you were already receiving for doing a minimal amount of work

Anyway depending on how you look at it most ppl who work at McDs are either working the system further or would not be eligible (no kids) for a reasonable amount of welfare (approx 200/month) to live on if they didnt work anyway
