I thought the first team that he would go to if back in the NHL was Edmonton.

Also. Look at Forsberg and how he played when he returned. The Avs lost 12 games in a row with him around.

You're joking right? Never had a work ethic or desire in his prime? When he was in Pgh he was the first one on and last one off the ice. He worked out a lot. I used to go to all the open practices and he was a very hard worker hence why he was the best player in the NHL for some time. He had a hiccup in Pgh with the management and it gave a lot of people like yourself the wrong view on him. His last year he played in the NHL he led the league in scoring... Give me a break jeez.

I doubt he will come back to the NHL since he would make only a fraction of what the KHL will pay him. If he doesn't need that kind of money then I think he would strongly consider coming back. He has been quoted a couple of times saying he would like to play for Lemieux but considering the penguins couldn't offer him much at all I doubt that too. He may be older but he is still very talented and it would be nice to see him in an NHL sweater again. Either way he is a hall of fame player and one of the best to play in the NHL regardless of his personality.

Forsberg was a vastly different style of player than Jagr, injuries conspired to slow Forsberg and completely change his game.

The guy is a freak of nature. Could easily see him put up a point per game. He is a much better athlete than Recchi and Recchi is 4 years older. I think he could have a big year with the Wings.

Glad that someone told the guy about Jagīs work ethic, I was just about to do it myself!

I believe he will get stuck in the KHL, they offer him more money and heīs gonna need it. Not that heīs broke or anything, but he currently takes care of his home club Kladno, where he started his career, as itīs dealing with some serious financial issues and Jagr became a manager of the club. On the other hand, he said that since the NHL season and the training camp start much later, it would be more suitable for him as he could devote more time to helping the club. He denied he would be joining the Pens, though... said he would love to play for Canadian team, as itīs always been his dream. So that leaves us with Montreal and Edmonton (they wanted him last year also). I donīt think it would be wise for him to come back to NHL, he was one of the greatest in his time, heīs still good and valuable player, but those young guns in NHL might hurt his old bones easily. He can be actively playing 3 or 4 more years in Europe if he stays healthy and get all the respect that he truly deserves for what heīs achieved...

I would like to see Jag with Montreal he would be great on the powerplay. Or even better with Winnipeg as their big name star player.

There's more money on the table in the KHL for him, i think he just wants to play with the higher calibre of player in the NHL.

Was thinking the same thing. I believe he was making large wagers via Caribsports at that time. Don't think anything was ever proven however that he placed sports wagers for the team he was with though. I'm sure suspicions still exist..

Jagr has about 1/16 of a tank of gas left in his tank. Liek hockey guru Shruter said he'd he a 3rd liner and PP specialist. There's no way Jagr will be able to put in a full season playing on and against fast top 1-2 lines in the NHL.

On the books, Det has about $16 Million in cap space and about 8 UFA to either sign or walk away from.

Jagr never had the wheels to begin with.

His stats in teh K were decent, but the KHL is just a step above the AHL in terms of competitiveness/skill.

Jagr will have a hard time adjusting the the faster, rougher NHL. He'll be a decent 3 -4 th liner adn will get top PP time, but there's no way he could keep up with the Sidney Crosby's and Phil Kessels of the world (NHL). Not even close.

Iīve just read that Jags is deciding between the Wings and the Pens... omg, I hope he doesnīt sign with the Pens, that would be an utter disaster... one of my favorite players in a team I can hardly stand... Heīs still got his old house there and lots of memories and friends, so this could be a factor too...

like it has been stated before, that was only a handfull of games. he's pushing 40 and no way could he withstand the grind of a full nhl season. PP specialist at best but hes gonna want a a decent amount of money to play proably and what team wants to give up that money for a player who might average 8 minutes of ice time

word going around is that he is trying to drive his value up in the KHL by saying that he wants to come back to the NHL. Maybe a KHL team will offer him $12 million /season.

    apparently he is down to:

Pittsburgh, Detroit, Washington and the New York Rangers.....

with an outside shot at landing in LA as well.

I think he is good for 25 goals even at his age.

Jagrīs agent confirmed heīs not coming back to KHL even though he would get much higher salary there (about 4 times more than in NHL). Jagr spoke to Michael Babcock from Detroit over the phone, heīs also in contact with Mario Lemieux from Pitts and the third possible team are the Habs. His comeback and all the whereabouts will be probably officially announced on the 1st of July...
