Any posters live in san diego

Seriously considering transferring out to san diego and have never been there. There is a listing at work that I think I can get and need to grab it fast. Just know that it has the nicest weather in the country and I am just looking to change things up and get out of the NE. My question is what part of san diego is the nice part to live in. Will be renting at first. Dont want to live in the fukkin hood. Want to start looking for rentals on craiglist and want to know what area I should be looking for.

Good luck Bronx, I considered moving West a few months back but couldn't find a good enough paying job to get me away from my current one. I wish I would have still did it though, could have sucked it up first couple months out there until something better came up, still might head out there. I was thinking San Fran because I have some old college friends out there.

not really if you rent. i work with a guy who came from san diego and the rental prices are actually comparable to the new york- new jersey area. I am getting paid about 20% more out there if I take the transfer. the company I work for has different pay ratings for every state.

It's very expensive to live here. Point Loma is a good spot if you have good money. But the best place I can tell you about is Pacific Beach. Lots of young people live their with college parties and shit.
Del Mar is also a good place, that's north of SD county near the coast.

What are you looking to spend a month? Do you want to live close to where all of the action is? Close to the Beach?

Alright. Well if you want to live closer to the beach I would check places like Carlsbad or Encinitas. Only a 20 minute drive to Downtown.

If you want to live closer to Downtown, I would recommend PB or Bankers Hill.

where are you going to be working......traffic here is tough. North county coast is a traffic nightmare if your gonna work downtown. Look into Mission Valley. MV is where lots of people come in first and then find something else afetr being here a while.

PB is a pain after a while. If you want to be close to the water, I think Pt. Loma is the better move.

I lived in Pt. Loma when I was out there and it was great. Just hated having roommates and that was the only way I can afford to stay out there. I miss the area though. CT fn sucks compares to it. And i was like 15 minutes from a Santanas and I wld eat there every night. Miss that shit too!!

Nice.....Better bang for your buck in Pt. Loma and you can be in PB in 5 minutes without getting on the freeway. Good Luck. What do you do for a living?

La Jolla is the nicest part of San Diego, and one of the nicest areas in the country. If you can afford it, post up in La Jolla.

Mission Beach is awesome, more young/college crowd and people in their late 20's early 30's. Right on the beach with great waves, boardwalk with rides, bars, restraunts, etc. I love MB.

Gaslamp district which is in the shadow of PETCO park. Another area with lots of young people, bars, etc. Really fun but prob not the most ideal area to live.

Rancho Santa Fe, but you could never afford to live there. This is where I used to live, Phil Mickelson lived 3 doors down from us to give you an idea of the types of people that live in Rancho. 10-20 Million dollar homes.
