    Opening account overseas?

Hello to all, first post is a question. I will be visiting a relative in the UK in August. If I were to open a bank account while there, use his address as place of residence, would I be able to open and maintain an account with sportbooks such as Pinnacle once I returned to the USA? Thanks for any responses.

he's mad that even though boston started off 2-7, if you add the games against the yankees this year, they would have an over .500 record of 10-8.

i dont think you need a bank acct but if you do then THAT would be the bigges problem being that you dont live there. As for having the acct, I dont think it would matter. You just wont be able to play from the states when you come back. So only open the acct up if you trust that person you are staying with your money

... opening a bank account in the uk is not going to be as easy as "using his address" You will need a recent utility bill (gas, phone, electricity, satellite etc) with your name and address .. as well as a valid photo ID (UK Passport/driving licence) - check here for details ... http://www.natwest.com/personal/curr...nt-branch.ashx ... then - when you get back to the US .. you will need a UK IP address (proxy server or VPN) in order to log-in with a UK IP address to be able to place your bets.

What kind of question is this? I'm not sure how other countries work, but you have to provide your SSN and some form of picture ID (drivers license, state ID...) to even open an account in the states. Why would the UK be any less lenient?

If you could just walk into a bank in England and open an account with your name and some random address, everyone would be doing it.

Whats not legal, its totally legal nothing wrong with having an account offshore he's just lucky to have his friend out of country. The only thing that is not legit would be with the books if he gets caught, all would happen is they keep the $. So like u said to not have a US ip.

Thanks for the responses, launching bets with a US IP address appears to be the end of what I had in mind. Just thought getting back with Pinnacle and avoiding dep./with. issues would have made it worth it. For those of you who are paranoid of new posters, I'm sure the "Feds" can come up with more sophisticated methods of investigation than posing a question on a sports/gamblings forum. Meanwhile Bronxer you and that pin striped team that the Sox just swept at home AGAIN, must still have a nasty taste in your mouths, poor phucker.

i think you would need proof of residency, but why not just have your relative make the plays for you and then write you a check

My uncle in the UK is elderly, not computer savvy. I wasn't sure what the terms were as far as depositing with overseas bank but wagering with US based IP. As others have pointed out, this is not possible so my question has been answered.

i think you could open an account with pinny but it would be very difficult if not impossible to get your winning out, if the rules are like those of the states
