    Closure of Pinnacle Poker

We are contacting all customers who have played at Pinnacle Sports Poker to advise that we will be permanently closing our Poker Room on June 15th, 2011.

Why Are We Closing Our Poker Room?

The Entraction Poker network has advised us that due to recent updates to EU gaming regulation, our current Curacao license is no longer accepted within their network. The steps required to remain within the Entraction Network will necessitate a significant commitment for Pinnacle Poker. Given that our current focus is on developing our leading Sportsbook and Casino products, we have decided not to pursue the necessary changes.

    What Will Happen?

From 5pm (GMT) on June 9th, you will no longer have the ability to transfer funds into the poker room. At midnight (GMT) on Wednesday, June 15th, ********** to the Pinnacle Poker Client will be removed.

Please be aware that Pinnacle Sports Poker will not be responsible for any tournament fees incurred, or potential winnings of poker hands currently in-play at the time that we are removed from the Entraction Network.

What Do I Need to Do?
Please transfer any funds from your Pinnacle Poker account to your Sportsbook account by June 15th. If you aren’t clear about the process you can find more information by reading our transfer instructions.

Rest assured our Sportsbook and Casino services will not be affected in any way by the closure of the Poker room. Their licensing, regulation and management are entirely separate.

it's easy to get a European license-LGA Malta for example, many books have it.
Pinny could get the license for the poker site, and keep the Curacao license for Sports.
there are bookies who operate this way.

It was never marketing and that poker network isn't really a reason people came to Pinnacle. It's something guys might have found to kill time between games but they won't lose a player because they are off the network. They want to be professional so they send these heads ups.

Nobody will leave Pinnacle because they are closing their poker room. I'm playing at Pinnacle for a few years now, but I have noticed only a few month ago that they have a poker room.

Many other outs to go and play poker.

Pinny by far a great option to play/wager on sports, if you're obviously outside the US.

Not a big deal, volume was terrible...late at night it was a struggle to find a full table at most stakes.

No trend, nothing to really worry about ... they are just sticking to normal business and in no need to expand to other branches of the industry.

Maybe they can devote the extra time to keeping their webpage from constantly going down for 5 minutes a time.

Didn't even know pinna was doing poker... in any case - I share the sentiment of pinna devoting more resources to keep the sportsbook reliable... It's been fairly stable lately - but then again, most of the soccer leagues are done... so the traffic is pretty small nowadays.

did their poker have critical mass of players?
it is very difficult to achieve that, euro bookies need to share poker providers to concentrate the action

Well... The Entraction network is about as soft as it gets, and there aren't any other skins on the network that I'd trust with a serious roll. And will also pay out minutes after requested.
