USC to play football on Sundays

I heard on the radio today that if there is an NFL lockout that USC might play on Sundays.

Is there any truth to this?

I can see good things from this for USC... National attention every single game.

But I am sure that there are some drawbacks that I cannot even think about right now because I am drunk as fukk.

But......... Is there any truth to USC playing on Sundays?????

Personally, I would think that any college games being played on tv on Sundays would be awesome if there were a fukking NFL lockout.

That actually would be a pretty good idea for them. Everyone else would probably just try and follow suit though.

All major conferences have already drawn up plans to have a national network game each Sunday if NFL doesn't start on schedule. Fox would do a PAC 10 game and CBS would have an SEC game. Not sure what NBC would do for primetime.

NFL will take a big hit if this happens

People will be fine with a slate of college games on sunday

Would be good for some form of football on Sundays. Also be good for the CFB schedule to be spread out a little more.

This is correct. Sunday Pac 12 and SEC football, which would be a lot better than NFL Football, IMO.

Agree with Bronxer heard the pac-10 might play all or the majority of there games on sundays if lockout continues. Screw the NFL anymore college game is just as fun to watch.

Sorry boys I like my Saturday's the way they are. Spreading it over two days will only water down the good stuff. Won't be the same to me. And yes I do like cfb more than the NFL....hell I'm in the south I have to.

Sorry Drink, you are way off on this. CBS will move SEC games to Sunday's. They will have no choice. The Pac 12 has already blown the SEC off the map, as far as contracts are concerned. CBS would be throwing big money away by not televising an SEC game on Sunday. CBS would televise the early game, and Fox would televise the late game. The SEC and the Pac 12 are the two best conferences in college football. What is wrong with seeing them on Sunday's?

would be great, but if it does happen, its definitely time to pay the fukkin kids something. this is getting ridiculous.a free education was a fair deal in the 70's before the ncaa was making BILLIONS of dollars off the kids.

The problem with that is this. According to NCAA rules if you pay one, you pay all, and in equal amounts.

I've no problem with this. Eat the NFL's lunch but use the money to reduce fees to all the students.

BTW, I think CFB should move to Sundays anyway as those whiny bitches in the NFL need some competition. Besides, CFB is the purer game.

Good move for the Pac 12. I'm not sure how well it'd go in the SEC because Sunday's are "church day" in the south. Money talks though...CBS would be hard pressed not to move some games to Sunday.

I think the PAC 10 as a whole will try and benefit from the NFL fallout (if there is one). Imagine if there was no NFL on Sunday the TV rating for a Div 1 College Football game?

Another thing to think about with SEC Sunday football is that most of the states the games will be played in are completely dry on Sundays. Bars, restaurants, and other businesses will miss out on a lot of business and it wouldn't be good for the local economy. The SEC may put one game on a week on a Sunday, but no way they're moving their entire slate to Sunday.
