Just the way you want to end the work week

Driving my fukkin brand new 2011 Jeep home from work. Had the fukkin thing three months and nothing but problems. The low tire pressure light has basically been on since i got the car. Havent gotten a chance to bring it back to the dealer and have just been putting air in the right front tire every couple weeks and it has been fine. On way home stop to put air in tire and the fukkin thing blows a couple minutes after leaving gas station.. Made it to a goodyear place right down the road. Guy tells me they cant look at it tonight as they are closing. I tell the guy I will throw him a hundo to put in the xtra time and he says no. . I dont know how to change the spare so i had to leave it there and cab it home. My question is if any of you know. The guy at tire place says they will try to patch if not might have to buy new tire. Now what are the odds they say they can fix. No fukkin way. They would want to see me a new tire. And does anyone think I have a beef with the dealer where they should give me new tire since that light has been on since i got the car. Tread on the fukkin tire is brand spankin new. I dont want to but new tire. Thats bullshit

    spare tire, tire iron, jack

take off lugnuts, remove tire, put on spare tire, put lugnuts back on, drive.

dude--I never bash but changing a tire should be your introduction to driving an automobile. It's very easy. You need to learn, it should take less than 20 minutes to learn

The tire can be fixed no problem. BEING.... That you did not wreak it driving on it when flat. Next time call AAA.

if its a nail that has entered the tire pretty straight and not at a large angle and not a very large nail it can be patched.

No need to buy a new tire. Just get it patched. You drive over a nail or something?

It is a known problem w/ jeep that the low tire pressure light comes up frequently. Don't know if you knew this, but it is also censored to your spare.

    I dont know Lou.

Thats the thing. I am just hoping the goodyear place doesn't try to take advantage of me by selling me a tire instead of just fixing.

They said they wont know till they look at it tomorrow. I am not mechanical and just feel they might try to take advantage of the situation

The spare was also off 20 psi. But the thing is i think the light was going off for the front right. That is the one that blew

If you don't know how to change a flat tire, you did the right thing. You could have stripped the bolts, damaged the rim, put the spare on backwards, had the jeep run over you, or forgot to put the lug nuts back on. You are alive, any of the other things I mentioned could have left you paralyzed or dead.

    its fixed arnie

    goodyear patched it for me

    it was a nail

i must of ran it over shortly after getting vehicle

    no tire defect

just wondering how long patch will hold

am guessing i will eventually have to get new tire sooner than i would of had i not run nail over

You said it "blew out shortly after leaving gas station"??

There's no way to patch an actual blow out. Did the light just come back on?

My wife drives a BMW M6, and she had a nail in a tire. This car doesn't even come with a fukkin' spare! It has what's called "run flat" tires on it. Supposedly can drive up to 50 miles on these tires with no air in them. Problem is, it was just a small hole, and BMW won't even discuss plugging or patching these tires. You have to buy a new one and they're ridiculously expensive. I took it down to my local tire place and had it patched. Never been an issue since.

by blow out i mean within minutes of filling tire to 33 psi it was dead flat.

after i filled up i pulled around to tank to fill up and thats when i heard the noise of all the air coming out.

3 minutes down the road i made it to goodyear and it was dead flat

just called them this morning and its all fixed.

patched it and said it was a nail.

Dont blow your tire with a woman around, and then have to admit not knowing how to change it. You will be dumped faster than trash on Mondays.

    liberty

    i hate it

got it for the 4 wheel drive with all the snow we have been getting in the northeast

you basically pay for the jeep name. you will never get stuck in the snow in this vehicle.

unbelievably horrible on gas. getting about 14mpg and that is not even driving in 4wd.

will probably get about 12mpg in the winter when i am in 4wd

Bronxer, I have to call Triple A for everything. I wouldn't even know where to begin on how to change a tire. Even if I did, I would still call them, that is why I pay for their service.
