    Fed played pretty well

I keep saying Nadal is beatable but he only lost 3 sets in tourney

    3 wins
    2 finals in clay season

The thing that makes Nadal tough is that he never lets up on any points and no other tennis player ever played like this and i think it wears on other players

Most guys give up games and points

im pretty sure if fed won the 1st set that match would have been his. He dropped serve in the second set the first time as a direct result of dropping the 1st as well.

He had too many mishits though

Yeah Nadal has a great physique and a fantastic set of wheels but he also has the deadly combination of huge spin plus an incredible defence.

I don't think other guys give up but Nadal leaves them with nowhere to go and they end up blowing up.

You say King Rog had too many mishits which is true but a lot of the time he was being pushed back and was playing one handed backhands at chest height. I think Rafa just took him out of the comfort zone. Rog did miss two easy forehands off Nadal second serves in the breaker though. But otherwise he was immense. It's just that Rafa is a god on the clay.

Great post there, I still think Nada is more beatable on clay now, seems like many of his shots are to much towards center of the court and to looping.

Now that Nadal won he is the king, and ppl start to write as if Nadal is invincible.

Not long ago when Joker won two times, both in straight sets on clay, what was the problem?

I think that Fedex ruined this grand-slam, with his surprise win against Djokovic in the semi. I was expecting to see a nice Djokovic-Nadal final, instead of watching Federers' boring play, and how Nadal is beating him, just like in many other RG plays.

How Joker lost to Federer, i still wonder. I think he lost for three reasons

    1. (Nadal) Djokovich was thinking about Nadal not Federer, his mind was in the final.
    2. (Fognini) walkover in the quarter final, lack of match practice.
    3. (Federer) I have to expect that he played really hard, and especially in the serves.

I wanted to watch a good final on clay between two giants, but Federer ruined everything, and we watched something which we watched again and again for years. The only difference, this time Federer was older and slower

Fed served way over his head against Djokovic and that is why he won

Djokovic would of beat Nadal in straight sets

    Pretty dope French open.
Put $50 on Joker before the tourney at +250. Then put $20 on Fed in the semis to hedge the Joker bet. Broke even with the original Djokovic bet.
Then put $210 on Nadal at -240 at the hilton against Roger.
Then checked around a little and found Nadal -220 at the Station Casinos and put $500 on Nadal against the Fed.
Federer can not beat Nadal on clay. That 4th set said absolutely everything about this matchup between these two on clay. Was sweating a bit during the first set, but Nadal is Nadal.

It's pretty simple really, Fed matches up better with Djokovic's flatter ball. And Djokovic has no problem hitting a backhand at chest-shoulder height from Nadal

Nadal will continue to be the best on clay for the next 5 years imo.

FED only beat Djoker because of his first serves......
pretty much like how Karlovic wins most of his matches!!

Totally ruined the final which should have been Nadal-Djoker......

Fed-Nadal at Rolland garros is a no contest.

Yeah he ruined all the enjoyment, We have to wait at least one more year yet if we get a chance to watch a final between Joker and Nadal on RG clay, if no injury or Fedex will intervene. Until that time we will enjoy only plenty of meetings, if we are lucky some grand slams, on hard surface i guess...

The tennis rivalry will be Joker and Nadal the next few years if both stay healthy

It was a fluke Fed won in semis, he played a perfect match but part of the game

I think King Rog can go on another two years if he stays free of injury. He is playing better than for a few years IMO. The unforced error shanks on the forehand seem to have gone and his backhand was unbelievable against Djoker.

Hopefully Murray can come into the mix. If only he could raise his serve percentage and get through early rounds more comfortably. Murray's problem is he is usually knackered by the semi's. For such a tall guy he should serve better and he needs to improve on that. If he could hold serve as easily as Nadal does then he would win a lot more. Easier said than done I know.

What about Del Potro? Hopefully he will come on strong and get back to the top. He is still young and already a slam winner. If he can sort out his footwork on grass I think he could do very well at Wimbledon.

Djokovic will be number 1 sooner or later. Better than anyone on hard court, and this year he showed us his capability to win against Nadal on clay

Fedex..... He maybe got his last biggest success by playing the final in Roland Garros until his retirement imo. Next time neither Joker nor Nadal will let him to make such surprises.... If they are "healthy"
