Do you treat your body like a temple or an amusement park ride?

    ???

Just started treating mine like a temple . Eat healthy, run , lift weights and meditate.

    I FEEL GREAT.

I am not religious but i found this quote interesting.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body"

That is a totalitarian belief suggesting that you do not really even own your own body. Get the fark out of here with that religious bullshit.

Both. All dependent on the season, month, time of day, whom I'm with, where I'm at, and most importantly if I'm up or down at that given moment. Good topic!

I think a combination of both is in everyone's best interests.
I think anybody who thinks of their body as a "temple" has taken things a little too far and obviously living off of drugs and fast food is not the best route either.
Somewhere in the middle is ideal

What's the point? We all die. My great-grandmother died in 2004 at 104 years old. She drank her martinis and smoked until the end. Both of my grandparents are the same way. They're now in their 80s, still drinking and puffing away, both love to gamble. They lived happy, they'll die happy.

You're talking about quitting smoking, quitting gambling and meditating. How long until you want to kill yourself and end up binging on all your old vices?
I think finding some type of middle ground would be in your best interests.

I agree. There's really no point to not do what you want to your body. Unless your obese or do hardcore drugs then that is a problem obviously because that could end your life suddenly. Everyone is gonna die eventually and lifting weights/eating healthy isn't going to make you live 10 years longer or anything like that. Some people get "lucky" and live over 90.

What does gambling have to do with treating your body like a temple? Does your man try to break your knees when you don't pay?

Didn't know that you can eat food, run and lift weights in a temple. What kind of a temple allows all these events to occur?

Sweating out games .. Checking scores ...Worrying about who scores first etc...

Your body is suffering. Gambling is worse then anything out there. Hopefully i get it out of my system soon .

That is actually incorrect. The adrenaline flow that some people get is actually good for you. It simulates physical activity and get's your heart pumping.

Personally I don't get nervous over one game so it's irrelevant.

Although I would say sex and women cause more tension for any man than anything else. Are you planning on celibacy? Perhaps you could join a Buddhist sect
