WSEX has joined CRIS books with transfer fees...

$50 fee for transfers, even to Matchbook.

WSEX is now a shit book.

We were just talking about this one here Doug. Do you know offhand if the $50 fee is being enforced at Matchbook now as well?

I just e-mailed Matchbook and got the following response...

    Thank you for contacting us.
Please note, Matchbook does not charge a fee for interbook transfers.

    Doug, you were told otherwise?

I appreciate the report. I am wondering a bit about this part:

The wording makes it sound like it's this new fee that has pushed things over the edge. I'm just wondering because I have never done a B2B transfer involving WSEX so it does not seem like a make-or-break issue to me.

    Is there more going on?

Or is this a reflection of just how bad things have gotten for Americans?

From what I understand WSEX has payout issues which already was making people weary of this og book.

They've had some payout issues as well (processor problems causing delays, not stiffing anyone), so that's probably a contributing factor to Doug's opinion. They never really had anything super unique IMO, but they were safe and paid quickly. I have no reason to believe they're any less safe, but there are other safe books with more to offer that have no payout issues and don't charge for BTB transfers, making WSEX less appealing by comparison.

    Just my two cents.

Books need to do what they need to do, but I don't like it. Charging to transfer to Matchbook too means that I will be keeping a lot less funds at WSEX.

Yep, just as books make policy changes that they feel are in their best interest, players need to adjust to make things work best for their needs. I'm just hoping that Matchbook keeps their B2B transfers free.

Matchbook doesn't charge, but WSEX does.

Ok, I must have misunderstood your answer to BBD above. Sorry.

So is the $50 for both incoming and outgoing transfers? Honestly even just one way to Matchbook seems to high to me and will result in people keeping less funds at WSEX.

The hassles just keep on coming for the U.S. residents cooped up there.

I liked being able to transfer some money from MB to WSEX to bet a 1H or 2H line or play a particular interactive, and then bring the balance back to MB once a month. Now that's gonna cost me $50? Sheeesh. And MB's volume is way down and you can only get value there from a buy-back bet down close to post. Sucks, sucks, sucks.

Wait, WSEX is charging for INCOMING transfers too, not just OUTGOING?

    Now THAT sucks.

According to WSEX live chat, the $50 charge is only for OUTGOING transfers. INCOMING B2B's are still free. Here's my chat transcript...

Anele: Welcome to WSex Live Chat, this is Anele in Accounts. How may I assist you today?
ME: I heard that you are now charging for book-to-book transfers. Does this apply to INCOMING transfers or just OUTGOING? Could you explain the new policy? Thank you.
    Anele: It is just outgoing
    Anele: All incomings are free
    ME: ok, great, thank you!
