We had a player at our table today who knew the flop and the river pre-flop and called an ALL IN by another player with only a short stack.

The key is to have fun playing! Playing to win all the time means you won't be playing long.

I am not sure if you can call it WHINING, I would put it in the category
of "venting frustration" I am convinced that Vegas Insider has played a
lot of tourneys and thousands of hands, I know I played many times against
him, it comes down to this, when you running a longer then average
"bad luck streak" you just want to blow your Cool and have someone listen
to your frustrations, Iam also sure that he knows that there are many
Donks, Fools, Bingo Players what ever you want to call them, that play in
SBR Tourneys and don't care if the win or lose, giving up is not the answer,
these guys won't go away but your Luck will change and turn around for the
best, we all know that Poker is 75/80 % Skill and the rest beyond our control
Don't give up, if the better Players all pack it in that would play right into
    these Donks Hands

it's funny but, i can't stand losing "unbeatable" hands, even in a freeroll. pair of aces has killed me so many times.

The worst is when a guy who hasn't played a hand in 40 minutes suddenly calls your all-in with J8 suited.

Because it is his best hand in 40 minutes and only has about 975 chips remaining.

It does not help that the SBR freeroll also seems like a turbo with the blinds going up every 5 minutes. In a regular hold em game, the blinds would go up maybe every 12 or 15 minutes. So people do have to make their moves earlier than an ideal time to have a chance on the SBR poker freerolls.

hey there was 6 left. last week. i was 2nd in chips.(18K) and raised 2x bb from first seat. with 99. hot streak came up over me all in. (8.5K)

he had 88. flop came 5610. turn was a nine. and river was as seven. this is truly a memorable hand.

i play like seven hours a day. and i doubt i'll ever forget this burner.

hot streak went on to win the tourney that day bad beating several more times. guys at the table's days after were still talking about hot streaks hot streak. and bad beating his way to the $25 bux.

    sinatra "unforgetable."

    --------------------------

good players don't bad beat that much. cuz they are always the fav.

Wrong, running good will get you there rarely, playing good gets you there consistently. Play only good cards, be agressive when you do, be willing to take a risk when not. All-in is my best weapon and I use it alot. Be willing to toss good cards and never think back allowing yourself to tilt.

I don't like the software at all here and as some think it is the worst. Conclusion made is that there is simply more bad calls being made allowing for more bad beats.

I slow played AA at the final pairing the other day. Guy went all in with a 9 5, with only a pair of 9s. Beat me on the river with a 5. I wasn't happy.

These are free poker tourneys and people are expecting there to be a high level of play?

I have no problem getting beat with KK and QQ. I realize a lot of people are going to call when they have an Ace and another Ace comes on the board to beat me.

What I've been noticing lately is that when I'm short-stacked I'm going to go all in with a lesser hand. I have no problem with a large stack calling my good hand with 95o to try to get me out of the tournament. But lately I've been getting beat on the river with the exact card they need. I'm not talking about a guy getting a flush to beat me. I'm talking about a guy needing a particular number, a 1 out of 13 shot.

This has been happening way more than 1 out of 13 times. More like 4 or 5 times.

Again, it always seems to happen when I'm short-stacked. I had 2100 points sitting in 6th place and the blinds are 1000/2000. So I go all in with an A. I don't blame the guy with the BB matching my 2100. Anyone would do that. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if he paired on the turn but it's always on the river.

If you are short stack and go all in the software is programmed to beat you. If you hit 3 of a kind the high stack will get a straight. If you get a straight the high stack will get a flush. If you get a flush the high stack will get a full house.

Thanks for the input pavy. I am coming to the same conclusion as you. But that doesn't mean I am going to whine about it in the future. I'm going to play accordingly.

In other words, I'm going to take more risks before getting short-stacked so I don't get in that position. Sure I may lose some hands while I have a good pot but I see that as the only way to prevent this.
