#737Both teams are tied at 3. This should be interesting.
Correction: both teams are now 4-3 in our favor!!!Last edited by bald_guy; 03-25-13, 09:13 PM.Comment -

#738A positive mental attitude is a wonderful thing...
in EVERY OTHER area of life BUT sports betting...
and for some reason the gods of Hockey take special joy in making us pay for expecting good things to continue till the end of the game.
In the rest of life, you get what you expect...but once you put money on an event, everything reverses and thots of gold bring shit. Many advocate the "reverse jinx "...expecting shit to attract gold...as in
"we're up a goal now...but there's no way they can hold on...might as well throw our tickets away now..." doesn't seem to get people riled up (when the game is blown) near as much as someone who was celebrating prematurely (=taking the victory for granted)
it's the hockey-bettor's version of theatre-performers telling one another "break a leg"...cuz they're afraid wishing for good luck will bring the opposite...
or...baseball players, even broadcasters being very careful to not mention a pitcher hasn't given up any runs...

#740Things sure was looking good. O well. Hopefully better luck next time.
Seems things didn't go as bad as I thought last night. 5 dimes gave me a push (they said cancelled) on the total points bet. I thought under 5 and the total points being 5 would be a loss.
Glad I was wrong!!! So really we was 1-1-1 last night. So by my calculation (using El Nino's lines) we only lost .6 of a unit.Last edited by bald_guy; 03-26-13, 10:01 AM.Comment -

Chicago Blackhawks Regulation (-125) 3u
Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (+145)
YTD
74-55-2 +32.26u
3u pound play on the Blackhawks in regulation. The Blackhawks have not lost back to back home games all season and have not lost more than 2 in a row all season. The Calgary Flames are horrendous on the road. They have lost their last 9 straight road games with 8 of those losses in regulation. Of those 9 straight road losses, 6 covered the puck line. The Flames average goals against in this 9 game road losing streak is 4.22. Bounce back game here for the Blackhawks with Emery likely between the pipes. He stopped 45 of 47 shots and notched the road victory in a shootout in these teams' last meeting February 2nd. Emery has not been credited with a loss yet this season. He is 11-0 with a 2.26 GAA and a .916 Save %.
Much like the Chicago Blackhawks, I am looking to avoid dropping 3 straight 3u pound plays.
YTD: 3u plays 10-3 +17.81u

#743Locked and loaded. Go Blackhawks. I see last time they played this team they won by a shootout. Lets hope this time they win in regulation with a point to spare.
I'm feeling pretty good about this one. Good luck everyone and thanks El Nino for the pick. Much appreciated.Comment -

Puck line is -1.5 so the Blackhawks needed to win by 2 goals, which they did. The 3u play was that they would win the game inside of regulation (60 minutes), which they did.
I'm not on 5dimes, but would chalk it up to slow bet grading.Comment -

#767Actually I just threw that number out without checking exactly what I got it in at, thought I remember it being -145... I use a local guy so my lines may be different occasionally but I just checked my pending bets and I actually got it at -155 not -145Comment -

I know the Wild have not played well at home against the Coyotes the last few years, but they should win here. LaBarbara is not playing well for the Yotes and they are a bad road team. Nobody wants to play the Wild right now. The X will be rocking.Comment
