A fan who suffered critical injuries at a Colorado Rockies game this week has died.
Robert Seamans, 27, was injured Tuesday while attempting to slide down a staircase rail at Coors Field.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the man fell about 20 feet onto concrete during the seventh inning. Witnesses told police the man was trying to slide down the staircase railing, lost his balance and fell, striking his head. The stairs lead to the center field seats.
The Pueblo, Colo., man was declared brain dead soon after the accident. Seamans was declared dead Wednesday night after the organ donor’s organs were harvested.
The Rockies released this statement Thursday: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young man and his family and friends. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to provide any further details."
