First off, if you haven't gotten AA in over a month the first thing that comes to mind is "you must not play very may hands of poker in the average month"
To the point, your chances of being dealt AA is 0.45% or roughly 1 in 215 hands.
And yes, you can make a big poker run without getting big hands - have you ever attempted to play a tourney without looking at your hole cards? I've actually won a 180 man tourney without looking at my hole cards... and I've learned even more about myself and other poker players by not taking a peak. Insteald of playing YOUR cards, you play others - you are forced to play position, learn how to easily expose weak raises, learn the value of 3-4 betting etc.....
Bluffing is one of the main weapons we as poker players have in our arsenal, if you know what you are doing, strong starting hands are not always necessary to ensure a decent run.
P.S - Once at a live tourney, I was dealt AA b2b... now I wonder what the
odds of that are?
