    Bodog:

The Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG and at MorrisMohawk.ca), with a gaming license in Kahnawake, Canada, have licensed the Bodog.eu domain from the global brand owner BodogBrand.com as part of MMGG’s international expansion program. MMGG made the decision in December 2010 to expand internationally and has already started work on one new country. Its current domain license for Bodog.com will be allowed to expire once the transition is complete. MMGG’s expansion will not impede or prejudice those markets in which the other Brand Licensees currently operate and retain exclusivity over.

Alwyn Morris, CEO of MMGG stated: “The experience of history tells us not to stand still and we feel this more global domain will appeal more directly to the new markets we plan to enter. We did the deal with BodogBrand.com for the .eu domain last year but are ready to cut over globally now. Like many in the gaming world we will be looking at Asia very closely and there are many markets that Bodog88.com, the brand’s Asian facing licensee, is not interested in. We also have our eyes on some exciting market opportunities in Latin America.”

Starting this week, everyone in every country that is able to access Bodog.com will be using Bodog.eu.
If you believe that reasoning, I've got a river on the moon to sell you.

    ICANN is the authority

what gives "Homeland Security" authorization to seize a domain that is used internationally? ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. If any entity has the authority to seize a domain it is ICANN.

"Homeland Security" has no authorization over internet domains that is recognized by probablly 99% of people outside of the US.

what's next? How many more domains does "Homeland Security" plan to seize? Do they intend to seize domains for websites that are critical to the US government? If someone operates a website with the URL Obamasucks.com, will Homeland Security shut it down?

this is a power grab that should sicken everyone here.

Verisign has influence over the.com domain names. Verisign is part of Symantec which is listed on the NasDAQ. Thus the US govt can swoop in......

All books that deal with US customers should transfer to domain names that are under less influence from us govt like the .ag

Its sort of like online players trying to make the transition from online poker to live poker, there are so many ways to make money betting sports online, line shopping, have tons of outs, live betting, etc. Sportsbooks in most casinos are really only there because the casinos have to have them there, usually the deadest part of most casinos. I love gambling live but playing craps, blackjack, etc is much better than sitting in some half deserted sportsbook in the casino.

Going back to playing at the station, parlay cards, locals may be where I am headed, sad.

    Wonder why

Imagine if we all cashed out from all our books, not good for sbr

The fact is this isn't the end. More books due to get seized. Game over. Goin back to a local

You could not all cash out at the same time. The only reason Pokerstars got their usa customers 100Million fast is because the Isle of Man requires that players funds are seperated from operational costs. Full Tilt poker who is licensced elsewhere does not keep players funds seperate and are dragging their feet paying people off.

I can not fanthom that unless the law where the book is says that players funds are seperate from operational cost that they would have all the funds to handle the mass cashout.

I dont know this for certain though

    Just talked with Bookmaker..

I have a good contact in the VIP section, he said the only thing seized was the domain names. He said by reports the banks that were seized were just for cards. They work with tons of banks. Outgoing payments are still good! Incoming deposits are still honored! No delay in payments.

Scum bags set up a fake processor and nailed them....Doesnt our govt. have a deficit to worry about??

Hell no. Verisign is a registrar. the owner of the domain is free to move the domain to another registrar.

what Homeland Security is doing is in violation of ICANN's authority.

DNS records take time to propagate so the old site will work for some people for a while.

    here is the WHOIS record:

    Domain Name: BOOKMAKER.COM
    Registrar: GANDI SAS
    Whois Server: whois.gandi.net
    Referral URL: http://www.gandi.net
    Name Server: NS1.SEIZEDSERVERS.COM
    Name Server: NS2.SEIZEDSERVERS.COM
    Status: clientDeleteProhibited
    Status: clientTransferProhibited
    Status: serverDeleteProhibited
    Status: serverTransferProhibited
    Status: serverUpdateProhibited
    Updated Date: 23-may-2011
    Creation Date: 03-nov-1997
    Expiration Date: 02-nov-2018

looks like the domain got seized

...and the authority to seize domains from US registrars comes from what international treaty?

ICANN is the authority over those names. No matter how many Homeland Security shills are posting on this thread, that's the simple truth.
