Rosenthal: Game 2 of Bulls-Heat Matched Game 1 Record-Setting TV Ratings




The exact national numbers will be released later Thursday, but TNT averaged the 7.4 rating on Wednesday evening in metered markets they had for Sunday's Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Bulls and Heat, Phil Rosenthal is reporting early (Chicago Tribune).

In Chicago, Thursday's Bulls loss averaged a 24.6 rating (approx. 860k homes) in the local market, up from Sunday's 24.3, walloping the 13.2 household rating for "American Idol". In Miami, the game averaged a 22.4 rating (approx. 350k homes), down from Sunday's 23.3.


Sunday was the most watched basketball game in cable TV history.
