Since we are talking about HOFers what about...

I got a few interesting players for you. I am not even listing the Locks or players that have been mentioned in Roid talks, because that throws a big wrench in there.

    1) Johnny Damon 2611 hits, 492 doubles, 222 HR's, 390 SB, .287 AVG
    2) Todd Helton 2275 Hits, 536 doubles, 339 HR's, 1258 RBI's, .324 AVG
    3) Jim Thome 2228 Hits, 431 doubles, 591 HR's, 1689 RBI's, .277 AVG

In my opinion if Damon can get to 500 double and 250 HR's and 400 Steals he is in
I believe Helton is in and has a chance for 600 doubles and MAYBE 400 HR's
Thome should could hit 500 doubles if he stays healthy and 600 HR's do doubt.

Alot of people like Omar Vizquel but I am worried his lack of production the last 3 years is going to hurt him

    2814 Hits, 447 Doubles, 80 Hr's, 401 Steals and .273 Avg

If he can get to 3000 hits he is in, but he only has 15 this year and only 97 last year.

    What do you guys think?

Thome is no question a hall of famer, Helton no chance.

RM, I feel you but I think if Helton hits 600 double and 400 HRs that would take about 3 years at 150 hits a years thats easy another 450 2700 hits. I do not think he can get 300 hits but if he does there is no DOUBT his is in.

Thome is a no brainer because of the HRs. Other two if they make it will be on the ballot for a while before they make it.

i'd give the nod to thome and helton, thome will probably end his career with 600 hrs and has avoided a lot of the roid talk.

helton's career avg is going to get him in imo, not many guys hit .320 or better in this day and age.

Thome is a lock. Damon, Vizquel, and Helton are going to be tough. It'll help them that HOF voters are leaving the "once-thought-locks" off the ballot

Good point, I think people just dont realize how good Todd Helton really is. Remember when he played QB, his knee injury opened the door for a young QB named Peyton Manning

I don't think Helton's career average is even close to .300 on the road, he would not of put up thoe numbers if he did not play for Colorado.

Thome is an iron clad lock. Never a hint of being involved with steroids. Just "country strong". 600 HR's by the time he's done.

The others are going to need to hit milestones. 3000 hits/500 HR's. Nobody got into the Hall based on how many doubles they hit...

Thome is a yes. The others will be borderline. I think if one of them gets in it'll be Helton

Carlos Lee, Berkman, Abreu all better than Damon, though he did win titles so he has a chance.

I was thinking the same thing. The guy has spent his career in a hitter's ballpark.

Here are Helton's career stats, home and away:

Below .300 average on the road...

If Omar gets 3000, it would certainly get him some great publicity, which would definitely improve his odds. I think he might get in regardless, 11 time Gold Glove winner is hella great.

Thome is going to get in no question...LOCK. The others...it would be tough even with the scenarios LV gave.

I didn't know that Helton played QB before Manning. That's unreal.

The HOF sinks even lower. Given his era, Helton's numbers aren't HOF-worthy and that doesn't even take into account the big difference between his numbers at Coors Field and on the road.
