I have been trying to figure this out for a while...The only thing I can think of is that no one else wanted them. They have to travel more than anyone else in the country every year because everyone they play is on the West Coast.
Would make the most sense for me...if they were in Conference USA don't ya think???
La Tech felt it was above the Sun Belt conference, and the WAC needed another team. Conference USA makes more sense geographically, but the WAC is a better league and a better payday for La Tech. The WAC felt by adding La Tech, they could gain exposure in the southeast, which of course is nonsense since no one is turning off Alabama-LSU to watch La Tech and Fresno.
in the past I would agree, but C-USA seems to be getting better. Tulsa is the REAL BCS Buster this year. They played like shit today but still 6-0 WITHOUT the genius Steve Kragthorpe
