Americans on the verge of another civil war?

Based on news reports and various internet article, McCain backers are losing it and shouting out their hatred and anger with all their hearts against Obama. There were reports of people shouting, "off with head" or "kill him", at a couple of McCain rallies, including a police chief calling him "Barack Hussien obama". The crowd went nuts when he said that, this is just sick and classless. The is just a small sample but the resonance is probably much larger among white America, especially in those red states.

American hasn't change much after all these year, except for them interracial porn movies.

It's going to be ugly next year.

The economy will be a disaster and the right will be throwing a fit about whatever Obama does to try and fix it.

There will be violence I'm afraid.

We arent the dog in this fight, we got all the guns down here. The north has pretty much lost all their gun(s) rights, at least in the big cities where most of the population is.

A minority, let alone an African American becoming president this soon is unprecedented. I'm 28 now, but was expecting something like this when I'm 40. People born in late 70's or early 80's would dominate the voting spectrum and are more likely to see through the colors. American's are clearly not ready for this, as you have already heard from some people posting here and at those rallies from news clips.

Coup De Ta is not far fetch here. There has to many folks either in the military or Secret Service that are flat out grass root racist, and they will fail to protect him. I know there are many people that hates Bush and wants to assassinate him or pretty much any other President. Whites hating whites is one thing, but a fanatical white person hating a black President is probably 1000x that amount.

What is Barrack's middle name?????Hmmmmm,it's Hussein!Richard Millhouse Nixon,George Herbert Walker Bush,William Jefferson Clinton,Ronald Wilson Reagan,Lynden Baines Johnson,,,,gee whiz,it's pretty darn common for white presidents to be addressed by their middle name.I guess there is a special politically correct law that says we can't address Obama by using his middle name.Doesn't that tell you something when you can't?????It tells me that his supporters are fascists and thought police and we are in for a society ruled by that ilk!

Whites have been ruling blacks for 200 years, now the shoe's on the other foot and whites are understandably pissed, prolly going to reinstate white slavery, be prepared to have your assets seized and redistributed to the blacks Zimbabwe style, Obama's gonna change this country, changing the name to the "Black House" will be his first act as president and quadruple the welfare checks to blacks to makeup for all the free work whites got out of em in the 1840s. Of course if you vote McCain we'll have the US economy drained for another 5 trillion for pointless wars and if he dies you'll get President Palin which is one of the signs of the apocalypse, not much of a choice this election which is why I'm passing on voting.

You will see lots of extremists here and there. Many people are afraid to vote for a black man. Many say they support Obama but in fact will get behind the curtains, their knees will become weak and will in fact actually vote McCain based on race. It's actually quite sad. I don't think it's based on color why some are afraid for what he brings though. There are many things that people are uncertain of here. For example, his muslim ties that were never clerified, his lack of public viewing of his birth records, his ties to the black panthers, his ties to American terrorists, etc. I agree with BTIB, there is no right choice here. We're doomed either way. Here are some scenarios of what I see happening.

McCain-Will get into office, won't see much change, the country won't immediatly go on an up swing and he will be bashed. He will be called "Bush" like and people will be in uproar.

Obama-Will get into office, won't see much change, the country will immediatly say "It's still Bush's fault. He fukked us good." Democrats will do the norm and blame everything and anything on Repub. and nothing will get accomplished.

What this country needs is a strong leader, someone with a serious background in politics, someone whom can put all the bullshit aside and want to do something for the better. Someone whom isn't going to bullshit his way into the White House just to be in there, someone who will tell it how it is and not say one thing and do another or not do anything at all and blame the counter party.

There will more Ruby Ridge type incidents and it won't be young radicals,it will be the old schoolers finally saying fukk you to the government, you took enough over the years, you're not getting anymore. This barack has ideas of taking money from the working man and handing it out to the lazy and taking away the right to bear arms,he has some radical ideas but he hasn't seen radical until he tries implementing some of these lamebrain thoughts.

If you really thinks both candidates are the same you must be smoking one joint too many buddy. One candidate at least clearly lays out what he plans to do about the current crisis, while the other is doing something different by choosing to attack his opposition character instead of addressing the current crisis.

One candidate which ever one you choose will definitely have a major impact on where this country will be head the next 4 years. As painful as it is for white America to accept this, your President for the next 4 years is going to be an African American.

Politics is what gets us in this stagnant mess. A seasoned politician should be the last possible place to look for salvation for this country. These people have been bought and sold a million times over. What we really need is to fire the whole lot of them, Democrats and Republicans, and scrap the whole two party system. If we could actually elect some candidates that thought for themselves for once and had independent ideas and proposals, rather than partisan talking points and bickering, maybe something useful could get accomplished. No leader could ever accomplish that. The other party won't allow it. They want the control. Clinton came close. But the Republicans investigated him until they were blue in the face and finally came up with his impeachment. And the Democrats would have done the same if the roles were reversed. Sadly, we will never abandon the two party system unless the electorate wakes up, real campaign reform is enacted, and/or something tragic such as a civil war erupts.

I think Obama is making positive changes already.

The right wingers see the writing on the wall. They had to be desperate to bring in Palin. And despite all the fear mongering:
    ooh his Muslim, or
he's black, and maybe not a total sell out.
    he supports the Weathermen
    friends with radical preachers.

The more stuff they throw out, the bigger his lead in the poles.
Something I did not predict is happening(maybe). The public is saying we're no longer going to be bullied by fear, and we wont buy into the propaganda so easily.
And this is a huge concern for the establishment.

    Yesterday's CNN headlines:
North Korea taken off terrorist list
    US supports Taliban peace talks

Is the White House laying off the aggressive tactics?

Obama is unlikely to be able to do much by himself. But if the political climate in the country shifts or changes than many good things are possible

ha ha ha, the over reacters. Civil War too much. Yeah the economy is bad Im down 100k in my 401-k plan. America is resourceful. We have overcome oppresion from England. A depression were people ate in soup lines. A dust bowl, Two world wars. Nuclear missle crises and several Huge down turns in the market. I have faith in my country and know this will turn around. I also know we will learn from this and move forward. It will be painful for a while but America once again will pull through. Civil war what a joke!

Nothing wrong with the term Civil War. They do happen. Probably nothing like the first American Civil War is likely. However, there's a lot of competing power interests in the country, and many are fanatical as you correctly stated. Some I'm sure will fight to the death to maintain power.
Hell, look at all the jokers in this thread ready to fight, and they don't even know what they're fighting for.
