NFL picks: No Palmer means no chance for Bengals
An 0-5 Cincinnati team that had little hope going into Dallas last weekend, ended up putting on a show that surprised most. They didn't come out with a win, but just having a chance for victory was impressive.
The Bengals head into New York as only six-point dogs – a deficit that could have been much worse pre-Dallas.
The Jets are coming off a bye week that was preceded by a 56-35 win in Arizona. Jets QB Brett Favre had one of the best games of his career, throwing six touchdown passes. On the flip side, the Jets defense gave up 35 second-half points.
Bengals QB Carson Palmer is unfortunately out with an elbow injury, after going 23 for 39 for 217 with a pair of touchdown throws in the close loss to Dallas. And, when the starting QB is gone, and you’re on the road, and the opposing QB is Favre, it’s looking like a win for the … JETS.
Chicago at Atlanta:
The Bears visit the Falcons and bring with them the No. 4-ranked rush defense in the league, giving up an average of only 74.2 yards per game. In Atlanta, they meet the No. 2 rushing offense averaging 180.6 yards per game. With RB Michael Turner topping all rushers in the league with 5.3 yards per carry, it looks like a good day to be a fan of the … FALCONS.
