Our military spending is absurd. No one is suggesting doing away with the military but there is no reason for it to be the size it is. We need a force that protects America, not one who goes and attacks random countries around the world paving the way for organizations like Al Qaeda to gain traction.

theres nothing wrong with having a strong defense,
invading other countries based on UN resolutions is unacceptable
we are a sovereign nation, we act on resolutions from the US congress, not from some global BS entity.

nobody is going to attack us. we are the aggressors. who is telling you others are after you? our government. all they do is lie to you and tell you we need more bombs and more wars. and as long as you keep on swallowing it, it wont stop.

There are two ways to approach that.

    1. If you believe that the United States should help other countries who are fighting genocide, civil unrest, etc, then yes the US need a strong military.

    2. If you believe that the United States should just leave everything in the world as it is, more isolationism, then no the United States doesn't need as strong a military.

Are we going to win this war in Iraq?

Trick question! It's not a ****ing war, it's us attacking Iraq for no reason.

And yes everyone should have health care, god forbid that the government looks out for everyone. What do you think the purpose of government is? People need to stop being selfish and look out for other people as well. I gladly pay taxes for services such as police, education, hopefully health care, etc....

if we used our military for the things you listed in number one, which the founders disctinctly said we should not, then we need to not just pick one country to invade, one that happens to have a lot of oil and opportunities for weapons companies to loot our treasury while people here sit back and say we need more defense.

you guys want lazy americans to pay for their own health care, but you want us to pay for other countries health care and removal of leaders who we dont like anymore. WE PUT SADDAM IN POWER, we put these guys in power and then we dont like them bc they dont give us oil and they make up reasons to invade and you guys go along with it hook line and sinker

how many times does the same shit work on you guys?

I believe that it should be around the board, my $100 check won't do shit.

Do you actually believe that the majority of people will take their $5000 check that is taxed and actually buy healthcare? I'm sure some will, but the majority will use it for bills, gas, etc.... It's not a solution, it's a cover-up.

youre missing my point. international laws are based on treaties. im not saying that you dont have to follow international law. im saying if the UN passes sanctions on a country that opens up the use of force, the US president can't send troops without some sort of resolution or declaration in congress, basically following the US constitution.
the rest of your dribble is irrelevant to the discussion

they dont exist then we make them

iraq sure as hell is the central front of the war on terror. because we ****ing invaded it and made it so

russia was the evil empire, bc we spent so damn much money they had no choice but to buy nukes themselves

we dropped nukes on the japs. nobody else has ever used nukes. we invaded iraq. im still waiting to hear why

    You're right, non-interventionism.

Ryan, I hate when I hear that we're in Iraq because of "9/11"

The thing is, no one has a legitimate answer because we're not supposed to be there. But hey, I've love to blow my tax money on bullshit when it could be used in a positive manner
