    Trouble in Costa Rica?

I'm hearing some rumors about some stuff going down here in Costa Rica. Seems like the big bad USA is flexing it's muscles again.

Plenty. It certainly won't be the first time that they've come here and just taken Americans back to the states, or just shutdown a sportsbook. Costa Rica drops to its' knees and does whatever the states tells 'em to do.

I dont see why more nations use the WTO to fight american policies, Antigua is taking the seizure of domain names to the World Trade Organization. They are claiming the U.S. is violating WTO agreements by seizing the domain names of companies that are not even American companies. Antigua has beat the US before by going to the WTO.

So what? If the US ignores the WTO's rulings, then what good does it do?

I have no specific details on anything. I've only heard rumors that the FBI is here on gaming-related matters.

Might not be sportsbook related....possibly poker related? A few of the poker owners that were indicted last month do show Costa Rica as their residence.

If you are an American operating a sportbook in Costa Rica...you better run, preferably a cave.

I do know that employees of Absolute Poker and 2 other poker sites no longer have jobs. They went into work yesterday, only to find out that they no longer have a job. I don't know if the states actually closed the local offices. I just know that everybody was fired, and that the boys in blue were visiting from the land of the free, home of the brave.

I haven't heard about anything related to the sportsbook industry.
