Derek Jeter is most -EV player in baseball

guy is washed up. he can not hit, run, and has no defensive range at shortstop.

yankees might as well put a bronze jeter monument out there in the field at shortstop. will be equally effective.

    guy also makes $17 million/year.

yankee management resigned him only out of respect for what he meant to the franchise for the past 15 years.

i am not trying to bash the guy. he is a steroid-free player, future hall of famer who will pass 3,000 career hits this year. i just think he should have retired gracefully last year at 36 years old. it is sad to see him struggling like this.

There has to be like 50 guys in minors better than him

Yanks made a huge mistake re signing him

He should retire after this season unless he turns it around big time. I can see him hitting around .250 with 5HR and 40 RBI and having more at bats than any guy on the team, at least bat him 8th or 9th.

Jeter is pretty much done. A good season for him at this point would be .270 maybe. Only downhill from here. Had to sign him though because of what he has meant to the organization

Yanks are stuck with him for 2 more years and Jeter has a player option for 2014. No way will be any good by then. He's just a singles hitter now. It won't be long before they start booing him at home. Posada is done too.

#1 option he should have retired gracefully at 36 years old
#2 Yankees should have laughed at him when he asked for 25 million per year of whatever it was, they should have laughed when he said 15 million per year. Him getting a yankee discount was just so he'd never be wearing a Detroit Tigers uniform at the end of his career and the only person that helps is Jeter. Now he can be a "pure yankee" and go into the HOF with NY as he stayed there his entire career.

Not only is he not doing that great this year but he's doing that at the top of the batting order, a double wammy. I doubt he even finishes as a top 10 SS in Fantasy baseball.

He always gets the "good guy" wrap but it's all for show. He's a self centered me me me athlete just like the rest of them.
