What did you make with soybeans?

I found a great website for soybean recipes, you've probably not made these meals with soybeans, but you could.

    Interesting market.

It's amazing how government and false USDA reports can move the market.

I guess the stock market is the same.....

Haven't done them in real life but I did a study in school with my economics teacher and Oil was money if you could get it at the right time... My teacher said he once scored 35k in one year on Soybeans because of a flood in Iowa... Seems to be a market that can be had.

Commodities are like playing Russian roulette, virtually impossible to beat them.

    Is it possible???

We could have back-to-back days with NOV. soybeans moving up!

Let's hope so..........at these levels, I need about 5 straight uptick days just to get back to square one.

    Beans up 20 cents pre-market...........

About ten years ago I had a lot of fun playing the currency futures off the IMM floor of the Chicago Merc. Back then, volatility was comparatively low and I could set my watch by the cycle in the Canadian Dollar. Near the turn of the century though I lost my sync with it, took a few big hits, and slowly turned my attention to other things.

Now that I see you talking about it, Fishhead, it makes me want to put my toe back in the water. I've come to really enjoy your posts, and I look forward to reading as much of your experience and wisdom as you care to share.

i was a commodities broker back in 1997, was wanting to be a trader at the CBOT, but that dream just sort of died when i was a broker seeing how it was basically a sales job, did very little trading. Got out and never went back. Made people a lot of money on Corn options then though, corn was 2.90 a bushell then, Corn Calls were very nice money makers, same with beans..

well if you want me to tell you about Nov beans, i will.

just looked at the chart for you.

here is the good news, you are way off of contract lows of (919.00) todays rally went to (988.00) with a settle at (980.00), the market should and will rally to at least (991.00) as their is a gap to be filled there... it also appears to be forming a saucer bottom, which is another good sign. the market should see resistance at (1040.00) and then again at (1100.00)...... that is how the upside looks..

now the bad news, beans are now in a downward trend, the 50% retracement mark is way down at (817.75) which is still a long way to go...

one thing is for sure, you do not want to be in this trade if beans break the contract lows of (919.00)

take it from me, tomorrow is going to be a crucial day for you, beans open the night session in a couple of hours, i would assume they move higher to fill the gap at (991.00), then after that, you will have your answer..

you better hope they close higher.. if i were you id be buying some (9.00) and (8.50) "puts" as insurance.

how many contracts, are you Long?

i hope this is a misprint but im showing Nov beans opening at 950 on the night session and trading down to 940

if this is true, its down (40 cents) tonight and your in real trouble, as that gap did not get filled.

dont want to be an alarmist but you better look at this situation.
