Casinos in vegas to start up online pokersites in 2011

They will have better promotions then these stupid illegal sites. Alone the casinos will try to out beat the next casinos promo. bad part is now we will all have to pay taxes......... oh well, as long as we know its legal, also NO FOREIGNERS, just us players

It'll be legal soon enough. Too much money not to tax it.

all the big casino companies have gambling websites ready to roll out today. they've been developing them since 1999. just waiting on the go ahead from government. should be interesting.

You guys are getting WAYYYY ahead of yourselves. It's going to be A minimum of 2 years until something happens. There's been many different attempts with various bills over the past few years and they were all stalled. And the people who are stopping this aren't the kind of people who think it's unimportant, they stopped it because they're religious nutjobs. Even with tons of lobbying from out of work poker players and the PPA, people like JON KYL will put a halt to legislation because "JESUS SAID GAMBLE IS BAD."

    what does tax it mean?
    Tax it like normal income?
3-5% tax. sure. this works for everyone.
25-30% tax. like normal income. no professional gambler in any market overcomes that margin.

Well maybe 5% of players but winners play a lot more hands than losers. Sometimes even at low limits you are sitting with 7 long term winners on a 10 man table

Haha. I like how OP makes some reference to Foreigners as if they ruin the game of poker, or shouldnt be allowed to take an overweight inbreeds money from the the South.
First, somewhere along the line, your messed up family came to America. So go **** yourself.
Second, of course the world will be allowed to play with Americans, and as such, we will clean up, like we did in 05-06. Americans are the biggest Whales. Cant wait.

If this poker site is based in the US then they will be the ones cleaning up your money no matter what. Whether the US players win or not the government will take more than its fair share of money through rake and the players winning in the US will also get taxed. This would also create more jobs and boost the US economy.

all winnings are technically taxable income, but at the 5k mark, they are required to fill out a form

No 5% would be the % of players that play for a living.
Poker is the most profitable form of gambling by far.

That is probably why they are going after the ones offshore because Nevada is going to start doing this here soon.
