USC still in Top 10 is just proof that the pollsters love the west coast teams... That is the most ridiculous thing i have seen all day...

USC ranked higher than Georgia? lol. Georgia loses to the #2 team in the country and USC loses to an unranked team that only recieves 3 votes to make the top 25. That is some funny sh!t. Whoever keeps putting USC up there, year after year, should be demoted to the mailroom...never to have an opinion that matters again.

Looks like that big contract to Nick Saban is paying off big time for Bama fans.

LSU #3? The way they manhandled Miss St. I thought they would be ranked higher than that. :Sarcasm:

Oh hell yeah. Okla St.! They had convincing wins over lets see....

    Washington State W 39-13
    Houston W 56-37
    Missouri State W 57-13

Don't forget the biggest and latest....

    Troy W 55-24

I wouldn't deny them a spot in the top 25. No doubt. But it would be a bit extreme to say, "This team would beat about anyone right now." They have put up some points at home against weak opponents, yeah. I wouldn't expect them to be in the top 25 much longer then lets say, the Saturday after next when they play Missouri.

Oh, and if you were being sarcastic like I was in the post above.... my apologies.

Do they need to? Unlike some other conferences (won't call any names), the SEC plays the toughest teams in the country week in and week out.

When all of your CONFERENCE games are tough week in and week out... Why play tough non-conference? Alabama will have played 3, maybe 4 Top 10 teams by the end of the season, along with almost every other SEC team... What does that tell ya?

Texas has a pretty tough schedule this year. They have a 4 game in a row stretch against #1 Oklahoma, # 4 Missouri, #21 Oklahoma st., and then finish it off with #7 Texas Tech. Then skip a game and they then play #16 Kansas and finish it off with a big rivalry game against Texas A&M.

Never thought I'd say the Texas Longhorns have a tough schedule in my life, but I have to give it credit. It is tough this year.

I am actually down with the schedule Texas has selected this year. If they can win out, they will deserve some respect. I actually had them ranked above Bama and LSU.

    1. Oklahoma
    2. Missouri
    3. Texas
    4. Alabama
    5. LSU

I Just have no credit for teams like USC, who play one good game a year.. Thats ridiculous.. They lose to a team thats practically ranked 100 and only drop to number 9.. terrible...

UNO- if Texas wins out, no way they can keep them out of the NC. No one would be left unbeaten with quality wins like that except Bama. It would have to be Alabama v. Texas. Even if LSU wins out, I dont think they can put them ahead of Texas because they never played the #1 team in the nation.( forgot they have to play Alabama to go undefeated...so no chance of that)

JRS- the funny thing about the USC schedule is that their 1 big game this year was against a team that really was way overrated and has shown the last couple of years to not be worthy of their ranking. Ohio State Thats why they were getting destroyed in the bowl games.

I was about to point that out before you edited. I don't think that LSU will make it past next weekend anyway. Thus far, they have barely slipped past. I don't think they are top 5 worthy.

That top 3 is very legit! This football season is very interesting. It should be a real good one when Bama and LSU meet up in Baton Rouge with Saban returning back to the BR.

JR is you coming to Baton Rouge for that game?

Nobody talks about Penn St. but I actually think this is one of the most overlooked teams in the nation right now. That team can play. While the Big 12 and SEC are busy beating up on each other, Penn St. could coast to an undefeated season. It will be interesting to see what unfolds in that situation...

USC lost on the road to oregon st. in a game they had a chance to come back in at the end.....Georgia go blown out at home by Bama in a game where they never had a shot. Thats why USC is ranked higher

This is not really valid....they rank teams in the preseason before anyone has played a game. A lot of teams have soft schedules in the early season. The ranking is based on the fact that they have one of the sickest offenses in the nation and havnt shown much weakness so far

Alabama would go into USC and do exactly what they did to Georgia. Punch them right in the mouth. Alabama would crush the Trojans, whereas if Georgia went into Oregon St and play the beavers, the Bulldogs would crush them. I dont care about what ther point difference was, you are talking about the #2 team in the country as opposed to an unranked team. No way USC should be higher than Georgia. No logical reason for it.

The poll looks pretty good to me, seems to reflect the volatitlity of the current situation. Only team that seems way out of place to me is Tortilla Tech at No. 7.
