you guys remember when det/phx was almost a pk'em last year

everyone got buried on that one.

Wonder what the price on detroit will be this year since in reality not much has changed besides perception.

Watch out for Pitts if Crosby comes back. My guess is he will be back and if so, watch out. If the Pens make it out of the 1st round then I bet he will be back for the 2nd round.

Buffalo had the best record in the 2nd half, they might provide an upset or two.

Hockey has changed. Too much parity now. Any team can beat any team easily.. Here's an example.. #3 seed BOS is only 3.5 games ahead of #6 seed Habs. #3 seed DET is ONLY 2.5 games ahead of #6 seed PHOE. now if i was to tell you that after 82 games in MLB (all star break).. that NYY are 2.5 games ahead of BOS, would you say BOS has no chance of beating them??lol.. of course not. that's why people think BOS will kill MTL, or DET will beat PHOE, or even VAN will beat CHI cause they were best team in NHL.. yeah right.. all the teams are even..

Even VAN will be like a -250 fav ONLY.. that's not saying a lot.they were the best team in NHL and CHI barely made the playoffs. that's why NHL playoffs are fun. anyone can beat anyone, easily.. the cup is up for grabs...just look at last yr..

Oh and also, aside from Van who will be close to -240 fav, there won't be 1 fav in any series over -200 or close to it. What does that say about parity. up until 5 yrs ago, DET always opened up the 1st round as -550 favs, and the #2 seed was -440... no more.. now anyone can beat anyone so easily.. There are no favs in the NHL playoffs. It's a great feeling knowing that even my habs have just as good a chance of winning the cup as any other team. dreaming about a stanley cup parade on Ste Catherine ST again is a reality. It is not impossible.

van is -300, every series is over -200 except two.

But I agree about parity, any of these loser teams can win anytime.

I don't buy it. whose lines you basing this on?? To me, whatever Pinny has is the right line. i don't count no 60 cent line books like OLY, etc.... When Pinny's lines come out, then we'll see that there are not too many books over -200 and I don't think VAN will be -300.

The lines already changed a lot, so Van is not -300 anymore but was, now wash is over -300...

    Lines at Greek.

Pinny won't have much different numbers. -240 will be -232 or -228 or whatever..

Bos, SJ, Det, Wash won't be under -200

These lines are changing everye 5 mins though.

Boston win the Cup +825 is worth a shot in my opinion.

To win the Cup you need these 3 things in this order: A goalie, solid defense and a decent offense.

    Boston has all 3.

no way there'll be a -300 fav in these playoffs. and there'll only be a few that will be just over -200 at pinny.. i see wash at roughly -270 at pinny and no other will come close to that.

Regular season means nothing, they had that last year and the year before that....

Boston might lose in the first round.

D3 is right, and like I said earlier Boston is the quintessential balanced team. What does this even mean "Regular season means nothing"? Well sure, but whats that got to do with the make up of their team? This doesn't change the fact they have excellent goaltending, defense and a decent offense. Boston is the only team I see possibly beating philly in the east

Philly better worry about Buffalo first....

It means, goalies will shit their pants again in the playoffs.

If you guys loved boston all year, why did you not pick them up at +2550

If you want to look deeper, Boston played in the crappiest division so all stats are inflated. Had one of the easiest schedules in the league. Only 10-10 vs top 10 teams.

K13, check out the series line conversation, i gave you a deal you cant pass up if you think buf has any chance. as for bill2266, i know they are being really hush hush on it, most the articles i've read say they think he's most likely going to be out for the first round, small chance he'll come back if theyre facing elimination, but they're hoping he can be all good to go second round if they make it

I was all over the Ducks until Hiller got hurt then Emery saved the day. Now Emery is hurt...who is left Dan Ellis? Sorry but Ellis won't cut it IMO. They need Emery back in net, as for Hiller his career maybe in jeopardy.....The Predators play great defense, they can win with 1-2 goals per game until the Ducks goaltender is in check.

If Emery gets back, then I change my pick but I don;t think he is coming back any time soon

What is with all the love for Nashville? They just aren't a playoff team and don't see that changing with their current line-up. They're a good regular season team who can grind out 2-1 games...but I'll follow the same old Nashville trend of another 1st round KO.

Weber and the defense is what has my interest. And of course Rinne. The old saying goes, defense wins championships...Not saying they can win the cup just saying they can knock off a team or two

defense wins championships...but you also need a good top 6 that can keep up with Vancouver/Detroit/San Jose. Just don't see any value in them..

this was me talking about how the odds for Tampa were +3500 to start the year and I thought it seemed a little generous. Had to pick them and the Sharks up. Feelin good about one of those 2 teams!
