Why Aren't More People Taking San Antonio Seriously??

the Spurs have won 3 of the last 8 championships, yet people treat this team like they are the mavericks with no history of playoff performance and no chance to win the West

I think the Lakers will be in for a war against San Antonio. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them go all the way

The Lakers lately have been a lot better. Spurs will be in it but I think the Lakers are better over a 7 game series.

They'll lose to the Nuggets if the two meet in the 2nd round. This is still the same team the Suns bounced 0-4 last year.

That little funk the Spurs had is exactly what the Spurs needed. You can bet Coach Pop cracked the whip on the team and got their focus back.

because they lakers are the best team in the nba and try when they want, which hasnt been a great deal this season. The lakers that started the season 8-0 and went 16-1 after the all star break are the real lakers. Lakers smashed them in S.A and have the best pedigree and have a few more gears yet. Theyve been timing their run and resting up for the playoffs. Spurs struggle against memphis and thunder/denver so will be banged up by the time they meet L.A. Lakers get it done when it counts.

Spurs are legit. They usually aren't this good during the regular season so its kinda scary how good they will be come playoff time.

    This.

I agree, they'll be banged up when they meet the tougher, younger Lakers.

If Coach Pop was throwing games to become #2 seed, it was nothing short of brilliant. As #1 seed, I don't see Spurs going far at all, not pass 2nd round.

The only team I see beating the Lakers in the West is the Nuggets or OKC because both them are fast and has the bigs to match the Lakers.

Spurs only has Duncan, and he has to deal with Bynum and Gasol. I remember when it was Duncan and David Robinson bouncing out Kevin Garnett every round, the role reverse now. Dallas, won't get past anyone, they're just hanging around. So the Lakers are still the toughest team to beat.

3 teams can come out of the West. Kobe is losing it. That dude shoots more bricks now you would think he was building a house.

Why Aren't More People Taking San Antonio Seriously??

Because they can't beat Lakers 4 out of 7. I wouldn't say nobody takes Spurs seriously, it is just that they are not as good as the Lakers.

Lakers aren't slipping, they are just cruising with two seed basically sewn up. Their regular season ended when they made that statement vs. Mavericks last week.

This is nothing new, Lakers almost always lose games at end of the year and then flip switch when playoffs start. A dangerous way to live, I know, but they have gotten away with it.

I don't think any team in the West is good enough defensively to stop the Lakers from reaching the NBA Finals. I do think that the Lakers lose to the winner of the Bulls/Celtics Eastern Finals though, because those teams can slow Lakers down.

Also, forget about the Heat, they are only the third best team in the East.

not true at all. they were awesome and only faltered of late due to injury. Theyve did what they have to do and theyll be amped come playoff time. theyll meet the lakers in the CF, but will lose in 6 or 7.

This spurs team is very good, they will also benefit from having the number 1 seed trust me. The lakers will have the much harder road to the finals, and it will cost them this year!

new orleans and dallas is easier than memphis and nuggets/thunder. Dallas would be lucky if they win 2 vs the lakers. new orleand would probably get swept. Memphis is a dogged team but the spurs will find it tough in the next round. I think they will win but regardless theyre going to have to use a lot of energy.

No, the Lakers don't care about HCA. Remember that the Spurs' recent losing streak began when the Lakers CRUSHED them at The Alamo.
