What is the point of making small bets?

If it hits, you will feel stupid for not putting more on it.

If it loses, then it means you're better off staying with just your big bets

Why not just selectively make bets, and put big money on the ones you are REALLY confident in? Only way you make money is by hitting your big ones anyway.

You rarely see somebody hit 5 small bets and lose one big one, for example. It's almost always the opposite.

there are some of us here that get a lot more fun out of going to a basketball/baseball/football game if we have $50-100 on the outcome.
even if it's not a strong play, there's a lot of entertainment value to throwing $100 on the over and hoping for scoring, and no i never regret winning even if it's a small bet!

Recreational. I like the high of betting on the game knowing I didn't risk the mortgage.

Small is relative. But yeah, when someone bets $10 on one game and then $500 on the next, it does seem to render the $10 bet pointless.

I dare say that most that would try this will find themselves REALLY confident in more games than they would have sticking to smaller action. And your strategy assumes you will never have a losing streak just because you are REALLY confident. It don't work that way.

Small can be better, but i don't think most better feel like that. It's really really fun and scary to have a lot of money riding on one game.
