ESPNs Doug Gottlieb had a private conversation with Butler coach Brad Stevens early during non-conference about what his strategy is up 3 at the end of a game. Brad Stevens told Gottlieb to never tell anyone this, and now Gottlieb tells it on national television/radio. Stevens told him Under 7 seconds and before 2.5 seconds you foul. Stevens did a lot of number crunching to determine this and at 2.5 seconds the shooter will pull up for the shot. Gottlieb won't be getting anymore good information for butler again.
You could foul Gottlieb at any point in the game, regardless of time, it meant 1 to 2 misses and you get the ball back. All conference teams knew this and used it against OSU. Never trust a guy who shoots less than 30% from the foul line. Gottlieb made Shaq look like Rick Barry.
And how do we know that Brad Stevens isn't playing head games with Doug Gottlieb to mess up the coach of the team he faces next thinking they know his strategy?
