    Thanks for pointing that out.

I see now the subtle sub forums in the Industry Forum.

Appreciate it, never gave it much thought and just clicked what I saw.

Got some interesting promo's including football team up by 17 points, basketball 20 points and hockey 3 goals will all be settled as winners even if team loses. If i had this deal in the past with some of the bad beats I've had I'd be a millionaire by now lol.

Founded in 2017, Betano has served as the Pan-European sportsbook property of Kaizen Gaming, with an established presence in the markets of Germany, Romania, Portugal and Bulgaria. Of strategic importance, Betano further anticipates launches in the South American markets of Chile and Brazil.

Till recently, Greek state monopoly OPAP was a big shareholder of Betano, they sold their shares before 6 months though.

    https://sbcnews.co.uk/europe/2022/04/20/opap-offloads-betano-stake-to-allwyn-investment-vehicle/

They have proprietary software with their own lines.

They are nice book and you will get paid, expect limitation though unless they change their strategy for USA which i doubt.

    Hope it helps.

Canada yes, USA no, or maybe better to say “not yet.” Not sure if they are coming.

Whilst I agree with you that bookmakers are not the correct entities to be collecting Proof of Wealth and Source of Wealth information, sadly I think you will find that eventually all or most will start doing it.

It is "required" under international Anti Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism agreements, which I would guess Canada are a party to.

But, and a huge but here, Betnano should not be asking for it unless there is a good reason to. Depositing and betting large enough so that it would be unusual for an average income earner to sustain it is the rule of thumb level.

If you need any advice on handling it feel free to PM me.

Yeah, it does give a cause for pause. It is a very good point.

But ever since 9/11 there have been hoops.

I was in an investment bank when the partriot act passed, what a clusterfukk from how we always did business.

Same with sports betting, hoops to consider unfortunately.

So yeah, maybe not so automatic for me as far as I could if I would. When it comes to risk, or safety, I would try them, but when it comes to disclosures, we Americans can be spoiled, so you do have a point.

So it's not so automatic for me too even though I've handed over some pretty serious info to some books to keep pushing forward.

I wonder if a presence in the USA would come with some exceptions, or even harder requirements, or just the same policies.

It’s European firms mostly pushing onshore gambling in America. There is lip service towards money laundering here, but a lot of these checks are used for delaying withdrawals and limiting winners.

    This makes sense.

I think its out of the ordinary for a book to require proof of wealth etc for no reason. I have not heard of Fanduel, DraftKings, Bet365, Pointsbet, 888, BetMgM, Betrivers etc etc etc asking for this information.

Yeah, I was thinking US might not let them or need them to gather all that info, maybe leave that stuff up to the IRS, etc.

Does feel more like a regulator thing and that makes a great excuse to use the process for delays.

I've been reading mostly positive experiences from Ontario players using Betano. Competitive odds, no hassles.

    Should be one to consider.

Betano is a big deal in Romania, in top5 bookmakers.
Here they limit you pretty quickly and if they consider, they'll ask all sorts of ridiculous stuff: like a selfie with your ID next to your face.
These kinds of proofs are asked more frequently in Romania and are becoming more and more ridiculous to a degree of mocking and abuse. The problem here is there is no SBR to help us with these abuzements

I've been using betano for about a week now, signed up for the $500 bonus (100% match) with 5X roll on bonus plus deposit = $5k

managed to complete the rollover in 5 days and was up $300, cashed out $1300 no hassle.

They have good promos and some very good lines on major sports. As it stands I'd rate them as one of the better books for rec players.

They will limit and/or promo ban if they believe you are a pro. This will not be a problem for me as I only made one large bet of $300 (it lost) and most of my bets were in the $40 -$80 range.

For rec players in Ontario I would definitely recomend them.

I tried out Betano last week for their $500 deposit match bonus on sports with 5x. Rolled it over easily and cashed out $2500 after 3 days of playing.

They paid out within 2 business days, no questions (or ID crap) asked. They are ok but I don't really like their website/user experience so I will still with Caesars and MGM where I can earn/add on to my Vegas comps.

So far no problems with them. But they limited my account at ice-hockey bets. The remaining sports still have a normal limit.
I have always received payouts quickly

Did anybody have trouble with their first deposit? I signed up and e-transferred $500 for my initial deposit, like I've done countless times previously with other books, but no funds have shown up yet. The funds have been withdrawn from my bank account and it's only been an hour or so, but deposits have always been an instant transaction with other books I use...

Stumper, etransfer issues can and have happened at every Ontario licensed bookie. THe funds will show up eventually if there was a problem, either returned to your bank or added to bookie balance.

Betano has a nice feature of being able to payout to a v.isa debit card directly if you used it to deposit, faster than etransfer for sending and receiving.
I use a Scotia Vdebit card at betano no problems.
