Ironically, it was the republican principle of letting the market take care of itself that got him. He had poor ratings, he nevertheless wanted more money, so the station owners said take a hike. Did he think he was entitled to a raise?

It's called laissez faire and it's been around long before republicans- who by the way rarely follow the principle themselves. 99% of these posts show most of the people in this country are clueless sheeple. I can't believe how many buy into the whole right vs left, republican vs democrat BS. It's amazing how so many follow these loudmouthed blowhards like Olbermann or Beck or whoever. They get everyone into such a lather that the population can't even see beyond the bs and think for themselves and realize there's no real fukkin difference between these ego manaical politicians. Democrats complained they were duped into authorizing the Iraq invasion/occupation (wasn't actually a war because these spineless cowards never even declared war!) Guantanamo, etc. Yet it is the same strategy employed as it was under Bush. Don't be fooled by the drawdown in combat troops- that's only due to the lack of combat. We will be there just as long as we've been in Germany. And the Republicans, those champions of the free market presided over the greatest redistribution of wealth in the history in the country. Just because it was taxpayer money going into corporate balance sheets it's still socialism. It's astounding that so many people see this phony black/white dichotomy between the left and right. Good guys and bad guys....They're all corrupt parasites, whores and shills to special interests- they don't give a fuk about you or the vanishing middle class in this country. left wing imbeciles rally to get Obama elected and then disappear from civic life thinking they've appointed a messiah who will fix everything with his fancy oratory. And the right wingers all of a sudden are mad as hell and having tea parties over deficits- where the hell have they been the last 20 years? The budget deficits have to be addressed but raising taxes by 3% on the wealthiest or cutting defense spending is not an option? How can anyone not see the utter BS this all is. It's like something out of the matrix, people follow their favorite commentators like their local sports teams. We all get what we deserve. We are a stupid fukking country.
