The current debate encompassing simply the $250k threshold includes millions of non 1 and 2% tax payers....not JUST the uber-rich. So try and show some logic here....let's look into a top bracket for those worth OVER $1million net income, which by accounts from both right and left sources, is less than 400k Americans. Pretty sure both sides can agree on that.
With that said, circle back to the basic premise of taxation....the govt is in place to work FOR the people, not the people work FOR the govt.....meaning we shouldn't look at it as "hey that guys making a lot of money, let's see how we can get more taxes from him". SPEND WHAT TAX REVENUE YOU ALREADY GET WISELY AND YOUN WOULDN'T BE IN THIS PREDICAMENT
We already pay .25 cents on every dollar we make to uncle sam while uncle sam borrows another .40 cents per dollar from China that it spends, this cannot hold up...simple economics tells you that. SO, instead of spending just for the sake of spending and giving our taxes away like Oprah does cars....how about show some restraint and try to make better choices with the money already set aside...then there would be no need to sit around looking for ways to get more more more. Make sense?
This is exactly word for word what Glenn Beck said last night... He even has the flashy emoticons.

You talk about spending, but completely miss the point that tax cuts COST MONEY. It doesn't just appear out of thin air. Its the 99% of us who do real work and comprise the majority of the electorate that decides how it gets spent. This is the real world!! Its not like the movies!! We need to spend money on basic things like education/reducing deficit, we DON'T need to spend it on tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans, especially since it's members of that segment who put us in the current bush recession.
