From the opening ceremony, to the colossal collapse in men's hockey, through last night's redneck-esque behavior by the women's hockey team, Canada has put on a sub-par show as a host of the prestigious games. Warranted talks have also occurred vis a vis biased marks from the judges, not only in regards to men's figure skating and the Plushenko fiasco but the awarding of the bronze last night to Rochette. Clearly it was a generous award, based purely on emotion and not at all on the performance on the ice.
As a long time proud Canadian, I must say in all truth, Canadian athletes and Vancouver, you have embarrasssed me and you have done so with the whole world watching.
