Hello #teamandy, this afternoon we received a diagnosis of West Nile. The team is going to run a confirmation test and we should hear in a couple days. We no longer will need an MRI now that we have this diagnosis. They also took away the Guillian Barre Syndrome diagnosis.

Currently there is not any medicine therapies available for the West Nile Virus. The team will be working on getting him stronger and with that strength will come building his muscle tone in his chest. Once he is able to build strength he will be able to be taken off the vent. People have been wondering and asking (including myself) when that will be. There isn't an answer for that, it all depends on how he progresses. The infectious disease doctor alluded to him being here a few more weeks (+) before he would even be stable enough to medically air transport him. We are taking one day at a time and being cheerleaders for the gains we have seen (wiggle toes on left foot, wiggle fingers, tracking with eyes, slight squeeze in hands). Andy is strong and determined and continues to fight and show us what he can do.

Dear God,
We are thankful for the answers you have provided today, although it does not provide a clear map of his healing progressions we trust in you and your guidance. Lord, please continue to give Andy the strength to make gains, to beat the odds that are up against him and shower the family with strength. In Jesus name, Amen
