The tremendous sorrow and loss I feel can only be rivaled by the gratefulness I feel for having known Dave these past few years. His selflessness, intellect and insight into all things from sports to food to music to the human psyche were unparalleled. He was truly a gift from God.

My sincerest condolences to his family. I hope they can take some solace in the outpouring of love and admiration his Point Blank family has shown through this incredibly difficult time.

I agree with others who have been regular contributors to the Point Blank threads, that we must not let this wonderful community die. Dave always taught us to think about the process not just the outcomes. I believe this was his way of preparing us for a future without him some day; albeit none of us could have predicted how soon and suddenly that future would come.

Because music was such a huge part of the process here each day I wanted to "plug in the jukebox" as a tribute to our brilliant leader. I had zero appreciation for Leonard Cohen's music until Dave showcased it in Point Blank. I'm now and forever a huge fan and have Dave to thank for that. Every time I hear Cohen's deep, bass-filled voice I will think of Mr. Malinsky.

God bless you and your family Dave. You are irreplaceable and will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace.
