I think it has gone too far to expect NK to disarm before talks, or totally.

The threat can still be mitigated with diplomacy. The current sanctions and the strong US line seems to have resulted in actual productive talks happening between the two actual sides.

If they come to an agreement it will no doubt include scaling back of long range weapons to appease US concerns.


BUT, if the US and/or China tries to get in the middle and starts insisting on the same old unreasonable demands that dis-arming must occur before real talks rhetoric, all that will happen is to set back what looks like will be achieved.
