this story was on 60 minutes last night, two R one from my area and one from Tenn. Kelly if you watch this show you might change your mind about this. We find a dedicated civil servant attempting to address this problem and serious roadblocks are tossed in front of this guy making it virtually impossible to address this opioid problem,, and those road blocks came from legislation proposed by one of the two above.

to make matters much much worse what happens in these situations is the people who are employed by many of these same agencies that are supposedly working for the protection of the people quit or retire from that agency and then are hired by the same corporations or law firms they were attempting to regulate. So now the regulators are bringing all their knowledge on how to stop bad practices to the people they were monitoring. Now they are lobbyists for these same firms.

here is a wonderful combination, equal parts politicians, equal parts capitalism add a shit load of money toss in less regulations bake until you have a perfect fck the people cake. don't expect any legislative action on reigning in the three largest drug companies making these meds. oh well the opioid problem is a very small problem right now, right?
