There is a beautiful irony to the trump situation. Many of his supporters like to discuss how America's status as a hegemon is declining while voting for him only contributes to that decline.

It is almost prophetic. A nation in turmoil elects a reality TV star to lead their country. It's like something out Infinite Jest.
