cops are for control, a buffer between those in control and the rest of us

Also, if you think cops keep you safe you should check on the data that truly shows the exact opposite. Just by the nature of cause and effect, 90% of the time cops arrive to the scene of a crime after the crime has been committed and the assailant has already left.
