This is ridiculous....I'm sorry. Before I rant, please know that I give my money and time to those who are in need on a regular basis on my own volition. Don't believe me if you don't want, I don't care. I think it's important but I also believe the following:

What people need to realize is that a large majority of these people begging for $15/hr simply don't deserve it. This is a free market. You get what you are worth. If Employee X goes to his boss and begs for a raise, will he get it just because he needs it to buy a used Ipod on Craiglist or to pay for dog food for his little puppy? No. An employee gets a raise based on his production. Work your ass off and increase a company's production - then go ask for a raise and cite your value to the organization as the reason. That's the way it should be. I can guarantee you THIS: I've been to a McDonald's - 80% of the employees there are not, shall we say, in a hurry to help me out in the slightest. The majority of them barely earn their $7.25/hr or whatever it is.

Here's the bottom line: those people don't have any skills. Why? Because they made bad decisions in life that got them there. Who are the people working at McDonalds? College and high-school drop-outs, women who got pregnant by five different men before the age of 20 and are waiting in line for food stamps with 5 toddlers in tow. Guys who thought, "Naw, I don't wanna go to college, I'd rather do drugs!!". Degenerates on the news saying "give me MY MONEY!!!" that the government is distributing. You may be reading that and think its harsh - but its the truth. Just walk in there and tell me I'm wrong.

I made good decisions and I worked hard to get my degree and get a good job. Once I got that job, I worked really hard to move up and experience growth. So because I made these good decisions, I should have my hard-earned money automatically distributed (at ridiculous rates, mind you...) to those who made AWFUL decisions? And whose decisions put them in the position they are in to begin with? I'm sorry - that doesn't make sense. It's a free market. Make good decisions and earn your way. People are saying that CEO's and executives that climb the corporate ladder are snakes? Sure, maybe a guy here or there got lucky and had a connection that got him an extremely high-paying job. You really think, though, that those guys didn't get there by....get this...WORKING THEIR ASS OFF??

I promise you, they did......I'll close with this: the biggest unrealized epidemic in our country is that these people making AWFUL decisions are making babies. Those babies then know nothing but bad decisions because they're parented by people who know nothing but bad decisions. It's very, very sad to me.
