Her problem was using her room for too much apart from sleeping.

30-45 mins before you want to be asleep go to another room, preferably have a shower and get into some sort of sleepwear (even if you dont normally) and read a book, a paper one. or have a warm milk and write a diary entry. Anything that is solo with no feedback (no electronics).

Then at the time you want to be asleep, go to bedroom turn light off and go straight to bed.

If you are really committed to fixing it, and it's a routine problem like hers was, doctor says a week of this has most people sorted.

And the other thing was to make sure you got early morning sun, to boost melatonin so you experience the natural sleeping pill of it running at the right time at night.
