NASCAR got what it deserved by allowing this can of worms to open years ago when it looked the other way anytime teams worked together in giving each other points,. A point early in the season is worth just as much as a point in the final race before The Chase. Richmond only magnified it.

I feel certain that Bowyer spun on purpose, mainly because in all of his post-race interviews, I never found once where he flatly denied it. He repeatedly danced around the question. At least he's not a liar, I guess.

I found it interesting that Rick Hendrick would pile-on with the rest on this deal. His teams have a history of helping each other to gain points.

While this should end blatant attempts at points-manipulation in the future, it won't eliminate the practice. I think teams will now just work on being more discreet. If the teams of Logano and Gilliland had worked out a deal prior to the race, nobody would've known.
