Why did people play there?
Tom Waterhouse was a front man for Robbie, definitely not a bum. Although I wish Hayson had ran well and cleaned him out before he got started, the whole family are crooks.

Small players are drawn to bonuses that Aussie books use to lure players, larger players will play anywhere they can get money down. Waterhouse used to be good for racing, in that he'll take a large bet, but Waterhouse style is to only lay the last 10 minutes before jump time. You're not getting on at top odds with a Waterhouse.

Lots of smaller books are primary for horse racing by rails bookmakers, so the sports odds are just their for convenience, expect vanilla odds because that isn't their business.
