There is no hypocrisy. The point of the original post is for people to learn how to help themselves. That's what the Nashville Rescue Mission is all about. They not only serve three square meals a day to the needy, and a bed to sleep in, but they also have good christian programs that help many of these people work their way back into the work force, and eventually become active, contributing members of society again. Of course, not all of them do this, but the fact that this organization strives to take these people to the next step is the reason why my family contributes our time to helping them out. If all they did was hand out food, then let them go, I would applaud their efforts, but would not donate my time there. All you are doing is promoting a crutch instead of potentially lending a hand.
