When Zimmerman disobeyed the cops by leaving going after him, that made him the instigator. He is ultimately to blame for everything that happened after that. Even if Trayvon did jump him, beat him, and try to take his gun away, its because he thought Zimmerman was stalking him. Had Trayvon killed Zimmerman with Zimmermans' gun, *that* would have been self defense.

Treyvon would have been justified in killing Zimmerman if he feared for his life.

Once Treyvon broke Zimmermans nose, he could have fled.
At that point self defense would be tough

Once Treyvon got the upper hand and was on top smashing Zimmermans head into the ground Zimmerman had the right to defend himself.
When Treyvon said " you are going to die tonight" Zimmerman was justified in using deadly force.

He shot Treyvon and then he escaped the attack and he retreated.
