After 5400 views, thread #2 got pulled. Thread #3 was pulled within an hour with 0 financial info on it. I PM'd Shari and she didn't know why the threads were getting pulled. Over five days ago, I emailed customer support and they still haven't responded. I decided its time to post the thread again. Hopefully this thread will either survive, or we'll get a definitive answer from the mods as to why it's not allowed to survive.

Round 4:

I'm attempting to resurrect a thread with the same title that was started by Boondoggle and was a great resource for Bitcoin information before the SBR Mods deleted it. Their reasoning was:

SBR Forum prohibits users from describing their financial transactions with third party companies. Any reference(s) to such activity with sportsbooks, poker rooms, or other gaming businesses that may or may not be considered illegal in any jurisdiction will be removed. Users who repeatedly violate this policy will have their posting rights revoked.

Lets see if we can tread carefully and build this new thread back up to the informative level the previous thread was at.

Remember:
Because of the ease of movement provided by Bitcoins, you do not have to keep a balance at these places. You can move BTC in, place your wagers, and pull it right back out.

Storing Bitcoins:
As far as where to store your Bitcoins, I personally recommend using www.blockchain.info as a "petty cash" wallet to move money around and for storing lesser amounts of BTC. They also have great mobile apps for iOS and Android.

If you reach a point where security is a concern, then I recommend storing the bulk of your BTC using BitcoinArmory ​which is available for download at www.bitcoinarmory.com It doesn't get much safer than cold storage.

Buying Bitcoins:

This is where I think we ran into an SBR rules infraction last time. I recommend going to www.bitcointalk.org and searching for one of the various bitcoin exchanges. There are many different options, but one of the most popular you will find by using the search term "instant". If you want to get them locally, use the search terms "local" and "bitcoins".

Volatility:

Bitcoins have been historically very volatile (Chart Here). Please keep this in mind before proceeding. Most of us consider the price of BTC to be a fun extra gamble, but if you want to limit your exposure, you can keep a cash balance at the largest exchange (you will find its name on bitcointalk), and only convert cash to BTC as you need it and then convert it back to cash when you are done.

Note to SBR Mods:

Please give us a warning if you can next time before deleting the entire thread. We are going to make every effort to stay within the rules will gladly fix any posts found to be in violation. A lot of time and energy from many posters was completely lost when you deleted the last thread, not to mention the loss of some great information for the community.

Amen. I had the old thread bookmarked and there was a wealth of information there along with updates. I have barely used Bitcoin compared to some - but it's clear from the get go it's an amazing concept and a fast, anonymous way to bet sports.

BTC Sports Match I think is esp valuable to smaller bettors who can get the best prices on the planet on their exchange.
