A hamburger is someone who gets ground into little pieces by their gambling. They started out as a whole piece of meat (albeit one of the more beat-up and gristly cuts) but now exist as a misshapen and piece-meal amalgam of their former self, all thanks to gambling. Sometimes it happens to people who just post about gambling and get sucked into their forum persona, but this is less common. This doesn't have to apply to just losers, either, as sometimes people with legitimate advantage gambling potential or skills can get sucked into the abyss after spending too long around the scammers and schemers that make up the larger gambling community.

You'll sometimes hear the term meatball used in this context, which refers to someone who meets the definition of a hamburger, but retains more of their humanity. They're a little sweeter, a little more tender and savory than your average hamburger, but they're still just another form of ground meat.
