I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, but i'm just not sure that the Canadian government wants to put the $$$ and effort into shutting out Canadians from betting online. The American government has put the time and effort into it, but I also think it's because there is a much bigger % of the American population that is against gambling. Canadians are much more easy going with it, and don't want to spend our tax dollars on stopping it.

There was an article on Covers a while back discussing this. I believe the person they interviewed was involved in the Gaming industry in Canada, and he believed that the online landscape will stand pat after single game wagering is legalized.

Now in 5 years that could certainly change....

But lets just hope that the provinces enjoy the slice of the betting pie that they'll receive, and don't force the Federal government to step in on the online sportsbooks.
